Qualifying Examination Programme (QEP)
- Professional Diploma in Tax Advisory (Full programme)
The Programme was first revamped in 2012 to become the Continuing Education Diploma in Tax Advisory. After several years of success, the Programme was further restructured and renamed as “Professional Diploma in Tax Advisory” to enrich students’ knowledge in taxation and to develop their career in the field of professional tax advisory. Successful completion of this 10-month program will entitle the students, who have the qualifying tax experience, to become members of the Institute. They will also get exemptions from the Hong Kong Tax Paper and International Tax Paper of the Institute’s CTA Examination.
The 2022 intake of the Programme has been commenced in January 2022.
The Programme has offered an option for people who only wish to take a specific module course instead of completing the full programme. The application deadline for module courses is 14 February 2022 (Monday).
The CPD course in International Tax Advisory enables students to understand why international double taxation typically arises and how it could be avoided. It aims to develop participants’ technical competencies in providing advisory services in international tax planning. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to identify common types of anti-avoidance provisions designed to counter specified forms of international tax planning and to communicate tax planning issues effectively in writing and verbally.
