As part of our long term Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) programme and a pledge to serve the community, the Institute will, for the 12th year, launch the voluntary tax services to assist the public in completing their tax return. Our aim is to help the public address any difficulties they may encounter when returning their Individuals Tax Return. Our voluntary tax services provide invaluable assistance to individuals in completing their tax returns, ensuring that they are filled out accurately and in compliance with the latest tax regulations. Through this CSR programme, we hope to contribute to the well-being of the community and promote greater awareness of tax compliance.

This year, the face-to-face consultation services has been replaced by hotline services again this year. Around 40 CTA members responded to 400 inquiries through hotline at the Secretariat’s Office. The Institute would like to thank all CTA volunteers for their contribution. The Services would not be a success without their participation.

With the support of the Inland Revenue Department (“IRD”), the Institute organised a briefing session to the CTA members who participated in the Services. The Institute is very grateful for the IRD’s continuous support, especially for preparing the video for our briefing session.

 

The Institute prepared some short videos to address the common inquiries in Individual Tax Returns and it is presented in frequently asked questions and case studies format. In the videos, our President, Ms Carol Liu highlighted the important points of tax issues and gave advice on various questions regarding Individual Tax Returns. The Institute is glad to receive compliments from the public that the video’s case studies could enhance their understanding towards the taxation principles which are illustrated in a simple and lively way.

Tax Tips Articles

Apart from the Voluntary Tax Services to the public, the Institute also invited our CTA members to share some tips of completing Individual Tax Return. This year, these tips were published on Headline Daily from 18 May to 31 May 2023 and shared on our website and social media platform. The Institute would like to thank all CTA members who have shared their wisdom of completing the Individual Tax Returns.
