Description

Cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and reorganization in Asia Pacific have grown steadily in the recent years. In particular, Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland have emerged as the prime destinations for M&A activities. Cross-border M&A often gives rise to significant tax complexity. If you are considering a deal in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland, it is essential to understand those critical tax issues to ensure a seamless M&A deal.    In this seminar, the speakers will address to the following elements:

Speaker Profile

Karen has over 15 years of professional experience in Hong Kong tax compliance, China, Hong Kong and cross-broader tax advisory. She is a key leader of the transfer pricing (“TP”) team of Forvis Mazars. Karen provides TP planning, TP risk assessment and TP documentation services and she has extensive experience in listing projects. Besides, Karen also provides due diligence and tax planning services for M&A and reorganization projects. She helps her clients to understand the tax implications and minimize their tax exposures.

Karen serves international clients engaging in variety of businesses including construction, fashion design, manufacturing, information technology, media & telecommunications, logistics, professional services, trading (wholesales, retail and online sales), and consumer services, etc. Her clients locate in different regions, e.g. Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, UK, US.

Grace has more than 15 years of professional experience in Hong Kong and China tax advisory, compliance and cross-border tax planning. She has assisted a wide spectrum of multi-national companies by providing services such as business and tax advisory, structure planning, tax due diligence, tax compliance review, advice during IPO stage, and representing clients in dealing with China tax authorities. She is also experienced in other areas related to doing business in China such as customs, foreign exchange, social security and housing provident fund, etc.
