It has been well over a year since the outbreak of the COVID-19. The coronavirus pandemic has caused severe economic contraction across countries and has brought upon unprecedented challenges to many companies. To manage the impact on the finances and business operations during this difficult time, companies in Hong Kong have actively taken crisis response measures.

In this webinar, the speakers will share with you the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department’s recent tax practice as well as the tax incentives and various government grants available to businesses from different industries for managing business sustainability.

Speaker Profile

Yan is a Partner of PwC Hong Kong’s corporate tax practice. Yan serves a large number of domestic and multinational clients involved in different industries including technology, media and telecommunications, consumer and industrial products, real estate, retailing and services.

Yan has extensive experience in providing Hong Kong corporate tax compliance and advisory services, including regional corporate structuring, merger and acquisition, tax due diligence, tax investigation and tax accounting and IPO projects. She has broad exposure in Asia Pacific and international taxation and frequently leads assignments involving regional and other overseas taxes.

Yan is an associate member and Chartered Tax Adviser of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong.

Dorothy is a Partner of Operations Excellence Solutions at PwC Hong Kong who is passionate about transforming organisations and processes to maximise the company value proposition. She has extensive experience in managing, designing and implementing solutions to align organisation structures, improvement initiatives and capabilities to enable clients’ business strategies.

Dorothy has over 16 years of experience in multi-national companies, specialising in project management, Lean Six Sigma Kaizen initiatives, supply chain management process efficiency improvements and strategic value stream transformation planning. She also has experience in overall customer account management, Research and Development (R&D) engineering assessment and project management, incentive scheme development, government funding application, order fulfilment and supply chain management.

Dorothy has a Master Degree in Engineering, and is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), and also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She is a member of the Hong Kong Logistics Association (HKLA) and member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).

Noelle is a Manager of PwC Hong Kong’s corporate tax practice. She has over 8 years of experience

in providing tax services to a number of multinational and domestic clients from various sectors, including

consumer and industrial products, retailing, as well as technology, media and telecommunications industries.

Noelle has taken part in numerous Hong Kong tax compliance and tax consulting assignments involving corporate restructuring, regional tax planning and tax due diligence. Furthermore, Noelle has experience in coordinating tax compliance and consulting projects in various countries for multinational clients. She has also been involved in a number of regional tax consulting assignments during her one-year secondment to the Taipei office of PwC Taiwan.

Noelle graduated from University of British Columbia in Canada with a Bachelor in Commerce specialising in accounting and international business. Noelle is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
