TIHK Supporting Event – 香港中文大學中西醫結合抗疫知識分享會

香港新冠疫情肆虐,第五波至今,疫情累計近五十萬宗確診個案,而且還有上升之趨勢。有見及此,香港中文大學中西醫結合研究所、香港中文大學中醫學院、中外企業促進聯會、香港中文大學粵港澳大灣區校友會、香港中文大學深圳研究院、及香港中文大學粵港澳大灣區發展辦公室,聯合舉辦「香港中文大學中西結合抗疫知識分享會」將於3月12日 (本週六) 下午 2:30-5:30以線上zoom方式進行。

 

是次活動,主辦方邀請中西醫藥專家為大家分享如何結合中西醫藥、中國氣功抗擊疫情,又邀請了已痊癒的曾經確診病患者分享抗疫病的實際經驗及提供防疫錦囊。

 

分享會將在中國內地和澳門同時網上直播,無需報名,費用全免。

Further extension of M-code loss case filing deadline (30 Apr 2022)

[Important Notice] Temporary Closure of TIHK Office

A TIHK Secretariat staff member has tested positive for Covid-19 from a rapid test kit on 22 February 2022. The infected employee last worked at Sheung Wan Secretariat office on 17 February 2022.

The Secretariat office will close for deep cleaning from 23 February 2022 (Wednesday) until further notice. In the meantime, all staff members will be undergoing a test and working from home.

Further extension of M-code loss case filing deadline

Recognising the impact of the recent severe outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic on the work schedules of practitioners and businesses, the IRD has agreed to further extend the due date of filing the M Code Profits Tax Returns for loss cases to 31 March 2022.

The Institute thanks the IRD for their understanding in these difficult times.

TIHK Tax tips articles submission

Dear Members,

You are invited to contribute articles to help the public in completing and filling the individual tax returns as well as understanding of basic tax knowledge.

 

Eligibility:

A contributor MUST be an any current member of the Institute (Affiliate, Associate and Fellow) and a Chartered Tax Adviser or Certified Tax Adviser.

General guidelines:

  • Each member can submit maximum three entries only.
  • The topic and content of articles must be individual tax related covering Hong Kong Tax or PRC tax.
  • No word limitation on the topic but the articles should be within 280 words excluding punctuation marks..
  • The article could either be in Chinese and English
  • It is suggested to keep the articles general and simple as the readers are the public with basic tax knowledge.
  • In each article, the name of TIHK and the title of CTA will be shown. You can choose to publish your article either in your full name, initial and or firm name.
  • In each article, maximum two contributors can be stated.
  • A disclaimer* will be stated on the article.
  • The topics and articles submitted will be reviewed by the Publicity and CTA Promotion Committee according to the content, structure, and creativity.
  • The selected articles will be published in all publications and promotional media of The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (“The Institute” or “TIHK”), including but not limited to newsletters, social media platforms, email direct marketing circulars, website, and event booklets but also in Chinese newspaper (Headline).
  • Contributors of articles selected for publication will be notified before publication of the articles.
  • Articles may be edited and shortened for publication purposes.
  • You may refer to the Appendix A for the previous published articles and Appendix B for the past years’ topics.
  • This guideline will be made known to all contributors.

Career Development Programme and Mentorship Programme

 

Programme Overview

To promote the study of taxation and encourage the pursuit of tax profession, the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (“The Institute”) is organising the Career Development Programme (“the Programme”) for the second year in 2022. The Programme consists of interviews and internship opportunities offered by the employers reviewed and approved by the Institute, which serves as a platform to connect industry professionals and aspiring young adults who would like to pursue a career in tax profession.  In 2022, the Institute will celebrate its 50 anniversary of establishment and we are pleased to launch the Mentorship Programme, as part of the Career Development Programme, to celebrate this remarkable milestone.

Last year, the Institute invited more than 30 Accredited Employers and five local universities to participate in the Programme.  Around 30 students joined the interview sessions eventually and one-fifth of the students with outstanding performances were offered summer internships at the Institute’s Accredited Employers.  This year, the Institute would extend the scope to invite all members who meet specified requirements and more universities to participate in the Programme.
