SUMMARY:20250208_0308 Workshop 4: Step-by-Step Approach to Hong Kong Tax Audit (with real life case studies on video)
DESCRIPTION:Total 12 CPD hours will be granted for this workshop. (Date : 8\, 22 February\, 1\, 8 March 2025\, Saturday) \nWhile the Government is incurring enormous budget deficit\, the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (“IRD”) is utilizing more and more resources on conducting tax audits. With the IRD’s new management\, the IRD’s approach on handling tax audits are also evolving. Exchange of information with other jurisdictions are becoming more common in tax audits. Recent developments in Hong Kong tax law has led to new areas of potential dispute. New technology has also made it easier for the IRD to identify tax audit targets. Taxpayers and practitioners should get up to speed on these developments to ensure effective handling of new tax audits. \nWe have invited the tax controversy specialists from PwC to give us a highlight on these recent developments in tax audits. The speakers will lead us through the whole process of a tax audit\, highlight the changes adopted by IRD and use real cases to explore with participants the different resolution strategies. Furthermore\, participants will be invited to suggest topics for the speakers to quote relevant examples for elaboration during the webinar. \nWorkshop outline: \n\nMicro-movies illustrating each step of a tax audit for common business types\nStep-by-step approach to demonstrate different strategies for resolving tax audits\nTailor-made case analysis in Lecture 4 based on participants’ responses in Lectures 1 to 3\nReal life case studies\n\nKey contents of each workshop are as follows: \n \nTotal 12 CPD hours will be granted for this workshop. \n
