SUMMARY:20230807 International Business Reorganisations / Solvent Group Restructurings from the Tax and Legal Perspectives
DESCRIPTION:In view of the changing tax and business environment in recent years\, corporate groups may consider undertaking international business reorganisation (IBR) projects for a variety of reasons. These may include effecting operational changes\, tax-optimised structures\, entity rationalisation/ simplification\, business separation\, pre-IPO tidy-ups\, or to accommodate changes in law or tax rules. As IBR projects may involve a number of different jurisdictions and different areas of specialisation (e.g. corporate\, finance\, intellectual property\, employment\, etc.)\, a wide range of tax and legal issues need to be considered to ensure the reorganisation proceeds smoothly. \nIn this seminar\, the speakers\, who are experienced tax and legal practitioners\, will cover the following: \n\nDiscuss common tax and legal issues arising in an IBR project\nExplore mistakes made and consider how to avoid or mitigate them\nShare some practical examples to demonstrate how IBR projects could be undertaken smoothly\n\n
