Hong Kong has introduced CbCR regulations requiring notification and filing by all Hong Kong entities, including group entities of foreign Multinational Enterprises that fall within scope. The first CbCR deadline is 31 March 2019 for the filing of notification to the Inland Revenue Department by groups with December 31st year-end. The set of rules in Hong Kong contain high penalties for non-compliance and not meeting the record-keeping requirements. Are you ready to handle this new tax compliance burden?
Many people think that CbCR is only an issue for large Hong Kong-headquartered groups. Some think that as their overseas headquarters is filing the CbCR there is nothing that they need to do in Hong Kong and there is no need to keep any information about the CbCR filed elsewhere. Some people think that adding up the numbers cannot be difficult. If you are one of them, you are exposed to a fine of HK$50,000 on each of the Hong Kong group entity.
In this workshop, the Speaker will walk through the keys provisions, the pitfalls, the common issues seen in real life, and share his practical experience in handling the CbCR process.
